Hello Friends,
In August 2024, I will be embarking on the Tour de Cure biking challenge to help the BC Cancer Foundation conquer cancer.
It will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
This cause holds deeply personal significance for me. I lost my beloved mother Ali in February 2023 after a courageous two-year battle with combined Hepatocellular and Cholangiocarcinoma. Experiencing her struggle firsthand has made me more determined than ever to contribute to the fight against cancer and make a real difference.
Cycling has always been an integral part of my family. Growing up, my parents and brother, Josh, dedicated countless hours to training and traveling for both competitive and recreational cycling. My mom was an avid follower of the Tour de France every summer, passionately cheering on her favorite cyclists. After her passing, my family and I embraced cycling as a way to honor her memory and participate in this meaningful event. By raising funds for cancer research, we pay tribute to her legacy.
Even after more than a year, I am still deep in grief and finding it challenging to pick up the pieces. My mom was my rock, my life, my best friend. I am dedicated to making a difference, and your support will have a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals and families facing the same devastating cancer diagnosis.
