Dear friends, family, and supporters,

We write to you with hearts heavy yet hopeful, as we embark on a journey that intertwines our personal story of loss with a mission of resilience and love.

OUR MISSION

In August 2024, we (Preeti and Simran) will saddle up for B.C.s largest cycling fundraiser, the Tour de Cure. All funds raised support the BC Cancer Foundation, and your participation will help power cancer research in B.C. We are aiming to raise a minimum of $5, 000 with your help and would also love to see you at the finish line after we complete 100km+ of biking at this year's event.

But this isn't just about the distance we'll pedal; it's about the journey of healing, hope, and remembrance we carry with us every step of the way. Let us share the story of how cancer completely changed our family's life...

OUR FAMILY'S STORY

It was the end of summer 2022, a seemingly ordinary time, and our family had no idea of the horrors that lay ahead. Our beloved mom, Tajinder, the pillar of our world, became sick. What started as a visit to the ER turned into a nightmare as she was diagnosed with aggressive, incurable Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer that had spread all over her body. There were no symptoms; no sign of this lurking, evil disease. In a blink, our lives shattered. The devastating truth of her diagnosis was accompanied by the harsh reality of the statistics: Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer has a mere 3% survival rate.

Exactly a month after diagnosis, on October 7th, 2022, our world shattered irreversibly as we said goodbye to our mom, far too soon at the tender age of 56. The pain of losing her is a weight we carry with us every day, a void that can never be filled.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

As we prepare to pedal and honour our beautiful mom this upcoming summer, we invite you to join us in this poignant journey. Your support through a heartfelt donation, however small, fuels our resolve and uplifts our spirits to keep fighting. Together, we can make a difference; not just in the fight against cancer, but in the lives of those who are grappling with the aftermath of its merciless grip.

With every mile we ride, we carry the memories of our mom and the hopes of those battling cancer. We ride not just for ourselves, but for every individual touched by the cruel hand of cancer. We ride for resilience, for remembrance, and for love.

Thank you for standing by us, for embracing our story, and for joining us in the pursuit of a brighter, cancer-free future.

Mom, we love you and miss you so much.

With love and gratitude,

Preeti & Simran
