In August of 2024 I will embark on a cycling challenge, riding 260km over 2 days. This is my 2nd year riding in the Tour de Cure, alongside friends and colleagues at Ledcor.
This year, like last, I am riding for Liam Armstrong. Liam was my first cousin once removed (son to my cousin Michael and wife Jackie), who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when he was 2 years old. Liam bravely underwent years of intense chemotherapy, along with radiation and a bone marrow transplant. He was incredibly patient and found room to smile in the face of it all. Sadly, Liam passed away in 2014 at the age of 6. I'm honoured to be riding with him in mind. I hope that his story continues inspiring people's generosity when it comes to cancer research, so that we can bring about a world where no child needs to be as courageous as Liam had to be.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please support this cause by making a gift today.
Thank you so much for your support!
