Refer n' Raise

There’s strength in numbers when it comes to breaking down cancer and riding for hope.

Starting April 18, 2024, riders can earn additional donations towards their personal fundraising goals for a limited time*, generously provided by the BC Cancer Foundation’s long-time supporter Brett Simpson of RGF Integrated Wealth Management, and Rachel Simpson.

Hurry, this offer won’t last long — so get out there and start recruiting!

How it Works

For referrers (current riders)

For a limited time, the first 100 referrals will receive a $50 donation for each referral (up to a maximum of $250 per referrer). Individuals who make referrals must already be currently registered for the 2024 Tour de Cure.

To receive a donation from this Refer n’ Raise program, the person you refer must enter your name in the field marked “If you were referred by a friend, please enter their first and last name here” on the registration form.

This will notify our system of your referral and will add the donation to your fundraising account, if you meet the eligibility requirements.

For Referrees  (new registrants)

For a limited time, new participants who are referred and register for the 2024 Tour de Cure will receive $50 off their registration fee.

There are no restrictions on the type of registration that needs to be selected; new registrants can select to participate as a solo rider or as a part of a team.

To receive the $50 discount, the registrant must enter the code REFERNRAISE24 in the discount code field during the registration process. Also, don’t forget to enter the name of your referrer so they can be entered into this Refer n’ Ride program.

If you have any questions, please contact us at tourguides@bccancer.bc.ca.

*The maximum fundraising amount to be earned by each participant is capped at $250 or 5 referrals. Only 100 fundraising gifts are available. You may receive the donation only for referring new riders. A new rider is anyone who is not currently registered for the 2024 event. Your account will be credited within 15 business days.

Our Generous Donor

The Foundation is incredibly grateful for the support of long-time rider Brett Simpson and his wife Rachel Simpson, both of whom have personal connections to the cause.

Their fundraising dream is to find a cure for cancer, and until then, successful treatment and hope for everyone affected by all forms of this disease.

A Note from Brett Simpson

“The expanding incidence of cancer of every kind is a sobering reminder of the fragility of life and the urgent need for continued research and support. After a friend and business colleague was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2008, RGF Integrated Wealth Management formed a cycling team to support BC Cancer Foundation in raising funds to support care and the quest for a cure.

Cancer has left an indelible mark on our family, friends and circle of care. I suspect you have experienced something similar. The loss of my brother-in-law, colleague and numerous clients to cancer galvanized me to help facilitate a change through fundraising rides sixteen years ago. Since then, we have experienced the heartbreaking loss of both Rachel's parents to cancer within a span of just four months, the loss of dear friends and clients, and still, we know many who are currently in the process of their own courageous battles against this insidious disease. My resolve to ride, and our quest for hope, got even more personal with Rachel's colon cancer diagnosis in 2019. Our longstanding partnership with BC Cancer Foundation in their mission gave us hope and confidence in their excellent care throughout Rachel’s treatment and follow-up.  From our circle to yours, we want all those who need it to experience the hope of life without cancer.

As we reflect on the impact cancer has had on our lives, we are reminded of the importance of coming together as a community to support one another in times of need. Through our collective efforts, we can continue to work towards a future where cancer is no longer a threat, and where those we have lost are remembered through the progress made in their honour.

It’s with this in mind that we are proud to support the Refer n’ Raise program to help you recruit new riders to the Tour de Cure in 2024. This program gives each new rider a $50 discount on their registration and makes a $50 donation to the person who recruited the new rider.

We have committed the funds to support the donations for 100 referring riders.

What we ask of you is to reach out to your friends, family, co-workers and others to help grow the Tour de Cure and help increase its impact!

On behalf of the BC Cancer Foundation and the thousands of British Columbians who are currently dealing with cancer – thank you!”
