Please support me in the Tour de Cure! This year, I will be riding in the Tour de Cure in August, to raise funds for cancer research.
Many of us have acquaintances, friends and loved ones touched by cancer, and I am no exception. My neighbor passed suddenly from pancreatic cancer, a form of cancer that is so difficult to detect that he lived for only four more weeks when he found out. Other friends of mine, like Derek Miller (penmachine.com), have also died from colorectal cancer, despite it having a better survival rate.
But with new advances and discoveries from cancer research, cancer does not have to be a death sentence. My mother Evelyn (in the banner picture above) survived her bout with breast cancer after chemotherapy and surgery. Another friend, George Pajari, had an even worse time battling throat cancer, but was able to make a full recovery. Lastly, a friend of mine benefitted from the early detection of lung cancer at stage 1, which meant she only needed some surgery and was able to have a quick recovery.
So your donation will make a difference! It will support researchers looking to discover new tools to detect cancer early, and treatments that will help more people survive if they get cancer.
Thank you so much for your support!
