In Memory of Brian De Jaegher
Brian (my dad) was many things: a supportive and encouraging dad, a fun loving grandpa who gave the best pushes on the swings, and a mentor to many. He was a hard worker and a lifelong learner. One of my dad's biggest joys was giving, whether that be his time, knowledge, or resources. He loved investing in people and seeing possibilities become a reality. In January, my dad lost his battle with cancer. One of his wishes was to not be remembered in sadness, but for us to cherish his memory and let it live on. It is in his spirit of imagining big and embracing the possibilities that I am participating in the Tour de Cure.
We have formed a team to participate in the Tour de Cure, presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help the BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer. It will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
The money we raise for the BC Cancer Foundation will support leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers whose search for new discoveries and improved patient outcomes will have a real impact in our communities throughout the province, across Canada, and around the world.
