This summer, I will be participating in my 3rd Tour de Cure, a challenging 200km bike ride raising funds for cancer care in BC.
When I first signed up I was told, the ride is supposed to be hard, uncomfortable, and a way to give a little of ourselves for those that don't have an option to stop. Last year in the middle of a heat wave, with the wild fire smoke blowing through the valley, I thought about those who couldn't and wouldn't stop on their cancer journey. It fueled me. I looked down at my handle bars to the bracelet my daughter made me, it says "U gqt this" (she ran out of letters and this has now become our inside joke). Again, it fueled me. I don't ride for me; I ride for those that can't.
You see, I'm not just doing this for the love of cycling (although that's definitely part of it!). I'm riding for something much bigger than myself. I'm riding for my best friend, my father-in-law, and I'm riding for all the friends and families who have been touched by cancer, because their stories fuel my determination to make a difference.
But here's where you come in. I need your support to help me reach my fundraising goal. Every dollar counts, and your contribution will directly impact the lives of those affected by cancer right here in our community. Whether it's $5, $50, or $500, your donation will make a real difference in providing vital support and resources to cancer patients and their families.
So what do you say? Will you join me in the fight against cancer? Together, we can make a difference and help bring hope to those who need it most.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Let's ride!
