As our lives seem to be getting to normal with the world continuing to adapt to COVID-19 - one thing that unfortunately never paused and continues to affect too many of us is Cancer. During the last year alone I have lost 4 colleagues and friends to this disease, have 4 more battling for their lives reminding us that we all need to continue our fight.
In August 2024 I have committed to participate in my 7th Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer. I am looking forward to the 2 day event cycling over 200km from Cloverdale to Hope. I am excited to once again cross the finish line in Hope after organizers for everyone's safety had to stop the race last year just over 30Km short due to extreme heat and poor air quality from forest fires. Last year's ride was extremely hard and heartbreaking. I know this year's ride will also be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
