In August of 2024 I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
This will be my fourth ride in support of cancer research and I will be riding on our growing Collings Johnston (CJI) team. My previous Team "Gears n Beers for Greg" in memory of the late Greg Hobin proudly raised nearly $100,000 for cancer research in his honour. It was an incredibly grounding and humbling experience as I had the opportunity to ride alongside cancer survivors and those who continue their battle to conquer cancer.
This year in addition to riding in memory of Greg as well as all those who have been impacted by cancer, I am dedicating my ride to Richie Vulcano who was my father's best friend for over 68 years. In Richie's honour, the proceeds from my fundraising will be directed towards pancreatic cancer.
With your support, Ill be fundraising for life-saving cancer research and care right here in BC. An estimated 1 in 2 British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime,. This is about supporting friends and family who have been affected.
