Back in 2021, my family received the most devasting news. My brother, Ritchie was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and was given 3-4 months to live. He was only 43 years old. He knew his odds were very slim, but he made a choice and he chose to live.
Ritchie was 43 when he was diagnosed with cancer. As a police officer, he focused on eating healthy and staying active, so it was such a shock when he was diagnosed with cancer. But even then, he never stopped being himself. He managed to live with cancer for 14 months. He focused on spending time with family and friends and was able to be there for the birth of his son and celebrate Father's Day. My brother was the most amazing human. He had the kindest heart and treated everyone with respect and kindness. He would great you like he's known you for years, but you've only met a couple of times. He was an angel. Even though he is no longer here with us, I know he's watching over us from the heavens and he will live on through us.
In August of 2024 I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
It will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support!
