Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
In August of 2024 I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
I am doing this in memory of my wife and best friend Frances Schmitt-Zago. Frances contracted a cancer known as multiple mylome. From the time of the diagonois we knew that there was no cure for this form of cancer. However, through research forms of treatrment were found that could extend a person's life in time and quality. Frances and, as a result, our family and her freinds recieved almost nine more years toghether. These were precious years made possible by the treatments research gave us.
The reseach continues and new break througts occur every year, especailly with multiple myloma. Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving and life-extending research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
