Participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer in 2018 opened my eyes to the profound effects of cancer - both negative and positive. The resilience of the human spirit to work and beat this disease was on full display at this event, and I knew I had to come back the following year to do it again.
After a few year's hiatus, I am joining the ride yet again. This time because a dear friend and our fundraising team leader, Marga, was recently diagnosed with cancer herself. To say her fight is inspiring is an understatement. I've seen her go from her diagnosis late last year, undergo treatments, and cap it off with a big middle finger to cancer by continuing to pursue her hobbies and passions through all of it.
So when I was asked to participate in the ride and fundraise again, it was a no-brainer. For me, this year's ride is dedicated to a childhood friend in Marga, her family, and anyone else who has been affected by this devastating disease.
That being said, any help with raising money is much appreciated! All funds go toward the BC Cancer Foundation. Donations come with a tax receipt as well.
