Hi everyone! Welcome to my page!
My name is Ruby Grinberg, I am from Toronto, Canada and I am a Master of Management student at the University of British Columbia.
In August of 2024, I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in this biking marathon to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation in their mission to conquer cancer.
My mom, Penny Mandel, was diagnosed with breast cancer twice. The first time, she received radiation the second time, chemotherapy. While my mom is a force of nature and a ball of light, I saw the effects that cancer had on her and her well-being. My mom was lucky to have an incredible team of doctors by her side throughout her time in treatment. She inspires me every day.
My late grandmother, Fran Abrams, passed away from cancer in 2019. She was my teacher, my role model, and my best friend. I miss my Bubie and the positivity she brought to the world every day. In this race, I will be thinking about my Bubie and the legacy of love she left behind.
I am competing in the Tour de Cure to help the BC Cancer Foundation raise money so no family will have to be impacted by cancer in the same ways that my loved ones and I have.
Funds raised through this event will support life-saving research and enhancements to care, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Every person has been impacted by cancer in one way or another: whether it be through having it themselves or by knowing and loving someone who has.
This race will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Through my fundraising for this event, I want to make a small difference in the BC Cancer Foundation's goal to stop cancer in its tracks and overcome it once and for all.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Not only will your donation help me in achieving my fundraising goal, but it will motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support! Together, we can conquer cancer in our lifetime.
