Please support me in the Tour de Cure

In August of 2024 I will be embarking on a cycling challenge, riding 260 km to raise money for cancer research. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.

Why I am doing this?

Last May in 2023, I found inspiration from my Muay Thai coach, Hiro Amano, and my fellow gym members at Team Schnitzel as they embarked on a 200 km bike ride to raise funds for cancer research. Initially drawn to the physical challenge of the 260 km ride myself, I soon realized it was much more than just a marathon on wheels. Hearing stories of individuals battling cancer opened my eyes to its profound impact on their loved ones.

While I haven't personally experienced the struggle of a close family member with cancer, the passing of one of my favorite English teachers due to lung cancer deeply affected me. Learning about her diagnosis and her inability to continue teaching hit me hard. I cherished her stories and the freedom she gave us to express ourselves in writing and understand each word deeply. Her unexpected recovery brought relief, but her sudden passing later caught me off guard. My biggest regret is not expressing my gratitude to her while she was alive. Ms. Sjodin, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'll carry your memory with me during this fundraiser.

I hope my journey can inspire others to make a difference too.
