On June 13, 2016 my husband and inspiration John Lian was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme (brain tumour) at 54 years of age. John was like a breath of fresh air. His passing a few months after being diagnosed was a devastating loss that will always be with me, along with the joy of his presence in loving guiding memories and gratifying ways of remembering.

Each year since 2018 I have trained and participated in the Tour de Cure with the enthusiastic Team Brainiacs, with the comforting memories of John, my mother Joyce (breast cancer 1985), my Auntie Jean (lung cancer 2017), and with the ongoing encouragement and generous support of you, my friends and family, all of whom carry personal experiences with cancer and with hope.

Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
