To friends and family,

This August I'll be participating in my 2nd Tour de Cure 260km bike ride. Tour de Cure isn't just about cycling; it's about rallying support for those fighting cancer. Funds raised will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients around the world. Because of these advancements, my mom had precious extra time with us, and for that, we're endlessly grateful.

I will ride in the hopes that in the future, there is a cure for families that must face their greatest battle.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and all your support throughout the last two years.

This year I dedicate this ride in honour of my beautiful mom, Mama Remy.

Last year I rode my first 200km with Team Schnitzel because it held a special place in my heart. In December 2022, my mom was diagnosed with leukaemia, specifically Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Hearing about the diagnosis, learning that there is no found cure, was heartbreaking.

When mom started treatement, we always tried to prioritize quality of life and six months later mom's leukemia went into remission. Last July we celebrated mom's 70th birthday with our family and friends. She showed us strength, and made us forget that, at least for few precious moments, that leukaemia wasn't part of her life. Her smile brightened up the entire house.

I am blessed to have had our caption and my friend, Dr. Florian Kuchenauer, by our side throughout this journey while being away from mom in BC. Learning about her treatments reassured me that my mom was truly in the best care in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Thank you to the amazing care of the doctors, nurses & care aides at CancerCare Manitoba & Health Science Centre Winnipeg. Mom lived happily and passed peacefully with us by on her bedside, on March 23, 2024.

Mom, this is for you. You are the strongest and bravest person I've ever known. This ride is a reminder of your strength and courage.

I miss your warm smile, your jokes, laugh and your presence. I miss you more everyday. Love you always and forever. Until we meet again. Always and forever in our hearts.

Rest in Peace Mama Remy
