This will be my sixth year on this 200+ kilometre ride from Vancouver to Hope over an August weekend. The BRAINIACS was founded in 2009 in BC by four brain cancer survivors and started as a team of eight riders. I am proud to be one of the original eight riders. BRAINIACS have since raised over $6 million.
I am inspired to ride for those who have battled cancer. Our team is led by cancer survivors such as Paul Chapman who has an amazing story of beating brain cancer. Pauls diagnosis was not good, but Paul had two young kids at the time and refused to give up. Last year, Paul was joined by his two teenage daughters for the ride.
