Hello Friends,
I'm excited to be participating in my second Tour De Cure with The Brainiacs in August and really hope you will join me in raising money for Cancer Research.
Last year our ride was cut short by about 40km due to the smoke from the forest fires in BC. We were all very disappointed but understood the need to stop for the health and safety of the riders and volunteer staff. I really hope that 2024 will be good to us and we can complete the 200+Kms.
My training has begun having just returned from an amazing bike trip with some of my fellow Brainiacs in the seaside town of Riccione, Italy. The countryside was amazing and the elevation gains provided an excellent workout and challenge. Together we rode for 6 days and almost 400kms. Our group of 8 women are all off to a great start to our 2024 cycling season.
My brother Andrew Philip(aka Hawk) is why I ride the Tour De Cure. He passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021 after a 13 month battle. Together with his widow Tracy McRae, we believe in the ride and raising research money for all kinds of cancer that affects all too many of us.
I would love your support no matter the dollar amount. I was touched by the generosity I received last year and hope you'll consider sharing some of your charitble dollars with me again.
Thank you so much for your support!
Gratefully,
Penny OX
