Every day, I encounter someone new or reconnect with familiar faces. Its during these interactions that I discover the far-reaching impact of cancer. My wife and I have personally felt the void left by loved ones lost to this relentless disease.
In 2023, I embarked on the Tour de Cour, a cycling challenge that initially caught me off guard. With little prior knowledge about the event, I pedaled forward, unaware of the profound significance it would hold. Riding on my mountain bike, I grappled with the extra 20 pounds of weight, but this physical exertion pales in comparison to the emotional weight carried by those battling cancer and their families.
Tour de Cour 2023 was an eye-opening experience, revealing the urgency of cancer research and support. As we completed the ride, I made an immediate commitment: I signed up for the 2024 Tour de Cour right then and there. This annual event, presented by Wheaton Precious Metals, is more than a mere fundraiser; its a movement fueled by a community of over 2,000 riders and volunteers. Together, we raise funds, pedal for a purpose, and strive to make a difference.
