This is our teams 2024 chant as we pay tribute to the great Henry Doyle, who when golfing would say Swing Until You are Happy.

Join us on this thrilling journey as Team Better Outcomes 2 gears up for the Tour de Cure, a two-day cycling adventure from Cloverdale to Hope BC. More than just a team, we are a community bound by a shared commitment, to make a difference in the fight against oral cancer.

Our Origin: Started by two Oral Medicine and Oral Pathologists, Drs. Catherine Poh and Michele Williams, at the British Columbia Cancer Agency over a decade ago. In 2015, Dr. Michele Williams lost her own battle against cancer. We ride on to honour this true cancer-fighting superhero and in order to pay tribute to her we added the 2 to our team name. Dr. Williams legacy fuels our determination to pedal forward for a future without oral cancer.

Riding in Memory of Henry Doyle

This year ride in memory of our dear teammate and friend, Henry Doyle. His unexpected departure just after our 2023 Tour left an indelible mark on our hearts. This journey is not just about the miles we cover; it's a tribute to Henry's spirit, camaraderie, the joy, and of course the spirits he brought to our team.

Our Theme: Batman - A Symbol of Strength and Resilience

In 2016 in order to pay tribute to David Bowie, who was lost to cancer, one of our riders geared up in a Ziggy Stardust outfit. This tribute helped reinvigorate the team as the mood was solemn after the loss of Dr. Michele Williams in 2015. Our team decided to ride with a unique superhero theme each year, starting with Batman in 2017. Unfortunately, a few weeks after making that decision Adam West passed from cancer. He played Batman on US television in the 1960s. This most unfortunate coincidence helped cement the Batman theme for our team. Batman symbolises strength and resilience without the benefit of special powers. All of us have the ability to be a superhero.
