For the seventh year, Team "OITSA is riding from Cloverdale to Hope to raise money for the Tour de Cure, presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help the BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer!
Yan & I have traveled from Cloverdale to Seattle in 2015, Cloverdale to Seattle in 2017, Cloverdale to Chilliwack and area in 2018 (year of the fires), Cloverdale to Hope in 2019, Hope to Harrison a virtual ride in 2021 and Cloverdale to just shy of Hope to Seabird in 2023 (also because of fires). We ride for many family and friends that have lost the fight of cancer and for all the special people in our lifes who are working hard to beat it! We also ride for the youth which is where are name came from; "Owen-Izzi-Theo-Sebastian-Anna and now OITSA is Plus 2, Miller and Colten our two newest Grandkids!
The money we raise for the BC Cancer Foundation will support leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers whose search for new discoveries and improved patient outcomes will have a real impact in our communities throughout the province, across Canada, and around the world. How much treatment has changed over the past 20 years and our wish is that there will be a cure in the future.
Our team is committed to raising $10,000 and this year Kal Tire has approved us for Mega Matching, matching every dollar up to $10,000!! So we need your support to come out and enjoy our Block Party and help us meet this goal!! We can not do it without the help of our family, friends, business associates and of course our team needs to do some training, as we will cross the finish line together as a team. This year is very special to have also Deryck and Ashley join our team and commit to giving the time from their busy lives to train and dedicate their weekend to the RIDE!
This is your opportunity to do something challenging and rewarding. And we won't do it alone, so training starts, fundraising begins and we look forward in seeing everyone at our Fundraiser event in July!!! July 13th Block Party at the Harry's!; come out and enjou yourself, lot's of silent auction items, Toonie Toss, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and great people!! Save the Date July 13th 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
