The Tour de Cure is a two day biking event that goes from Cloverdale to Hope to raise money for cancer research (that Im hoping Canada will share with New Zealand). The event sees over 2000 riders per year and will be from August 24-25. My goal is to raise $4500.
Im riding for my dad Tony. We lost him last year to small cell cancer after 3 years of fighting. Boy did he give it everything.
Dad loved the outdoors, but especially biking of any kind. Mountain biking, road biking - he even broke his collarbone borrowing Mums E-bike once oops! One of my earliest memories is of him holding on to the seat and running beside me as I learnt to ride without training wheels.
This is my first time riding and Im a little terrified of the distance, but excited to be a part of working towards a cure. I will be riding alongside many other people who have had to experience the devastation of having a loved one go through this.
If you are able to support me in any way with a donation or kind thoughts and energy during the ride I would be so grateful.
For my hero, my Dad, my adventure inspiration.
Love Katie
