This year as I get ready to cycle once again, I will be cycling for Rowena, a dear friend who fought bravely and never gave up. Her family has graciously agreed to share her story. It is a story of courage, faith, and love. It is written by her husband Jeff, who was her best friend and partner for life:

It was Thursday before Good Friday when Rowena received a call from her Doctor that there were several masses on her Pancreas and liver. Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Rowena was an amazing mother of three and a super wife of 33 years.

Rowena was ready for the fight!

Her faith in God her family and all her friends behind her kept her strong.

One year and 27 chemo treatments later Rowena went to be our father in heaven.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4

Thank you for reading Rowenas story, and this is why I ride for her. I ride to honor her memory. I ride for everyone who is fighting cancer or has lost someone to cancer. I ride to hope for a better future where cancer is no more.

Together, we ride as a team that stands together to defeat cancer!
