I'm taking on the Tour de Cure
Held by Daniel Letient
Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
This August I will be embarking on a cycling challenge, to bike from Cloverdale to Hope (200 km over two days) to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
I am biking for all the people in my life who have battled cancer. The list is long. Some won their fight, some are still fighting, and some were taken from this life far too soon. All of them are my inspiration to take on this challenge; one that pales in comparison to the challenge of facing cancer.
I am riding for my Mom, who battled and overcame breast cancer and inspires me everyday with her attitude, perseverance, and love of life. I am riding for my Aunty Mary Anne and Uncle Wolf, who both lost their battles with cancer too young. I am riding for feisty Nana who fought breast cancer, won, and then lived into her 90s. I am riding for both my grandpas, who I never got to meet because of cancer. I am riding for Daniel Snell, my mentor at work who taught me so much and lived a life worth emulating; I wish daily I could ask him questions and talk about life. I am riding for my Best Man's dad, Paul Hurley, who was a one of a kind man and is missed by everyone who knew him. I am riding for my "second-mom", Heatherann, who just started her fight with breast cancer. And I am riding for all the other people who have been affected directly, or indirectly, by cancer... That list probably touches the whole world.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world. I am hoping that my small efforts to raise money for research can help find new tools to fight this disease so current and future cancer patients don't have to fight so hard.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support!
