Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
In honour of my dear friend, Nancy Barnes who was taken by cancer last year, I will be embarking on a cycling journey this August. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer. I will be joining Nancy's sister, Donna, along with other long-time friends who loved Nancy. We will be riding in BC, where Nancy and I first met in high school, and where we had many adventures at UBC.
The ride will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer. Nancy coped with this disease for many years, with the most amazing grace and strength. She started participating in this ride after having cancer and she continued with her usual persistence and stoicism, even while undergoing cancer treatment. She inspires me everyday.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
