Please support me and the brainiacs on the Tour de Cure
Held by Neil Melliship
Good day,
With some incredible support, I've now surpassed my personal fundraising goal for 2023 - but the need for fundraising for my team and this important cause continues. If you were planning to donate on my behalf, please do so at the Brainiacs Team donation page: https://bccancerfoundation.com/brainiacs
I've recently signed up to participate in the 2023 Tour de Cure as a member of the Brainiacs, to help the BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer. The Brainiacs team was founded 13 years ago, by a small group of brain cancer survivors, some of whom are fortunately still carrying the torch today.
I'm taking on this challenge this coming August for a very important cause - and that cause is exceptionally close to my heart this year as a very close family member is currently battling brain cancer. This person desires to remain anonymous and of course I'm respecting that decision. Sadly, there are numerous other family, friends and colleagues who are currently battling cancer of one sort or another or that have succumbed recently. Cycling long distances is hard work, but I can tell you from up close and personal experience, it pales in comparison to the challenges of those facing brain and other cancers.
With your support, the Brainiacs and I are fundraising for life-saving cancer research right here in BC. Many of you already know that 1 in 2 British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. What you may not know is that 27 Canadians will be newly diagnosed with brain cancer today and every other day. Treatment options for brain cancer are currently few and far between. My participation in the Tour de Cure this year is about supporting the many family, friends and colleagues in my life who have been affected by cancer and in particular, by brain cancer. This is about changing the story by powering world-leading research.
Please consider making a donation today - your donation will help my Brainiacs teamates achieve their fundraising goals AND motivate us in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support!
