I'm taking on the Tour de Cure
Held by Robyn Savage
In February 2022, I was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma cancer in my abdomen. I had to undergo surgery to remove the tumour and 7 rounds of chemotherapy. Over a total of 9 months, I survived a major surgery, 42 days of chemo, unpleasant symptoms, hair loss, a high fever, a blood transfusion, covid sickness, a port implant, CT scans, and more injections and needles than I can count.
Nevertheless, I remained positive, as I was determined to make it out of the other side. Unfortunately, not all cancer patients are so lucky, so I feel very fortunate to be given a second chance at life! After the surgery, I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to ride a bike again, so I am extremely grateful that my body is physically able to take on this next challenge!
This August 2023, I will be riding in the Tour De Cure (2 day cycling event) and fundraising for all of the cancer warriors out there, who have battled this horrible disease! Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for all of your support!
