Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
This August I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
It will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer. Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me by a donation - it will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Why I Ride:
In the spring of 2009 I had the opportunity to ride from Kelowna to Winfield alongside the Sears National Kids Cancer Riders Canadian team. It was a short 21k ride compared to the distance the riders go across Canada but inspiring to say the least. It was then that I knew I wanted to contribute in some way to help find a cure for this disease that has taken so much from so many. Everyone knows or has heard of someone that has been afflicted with cancer. Do you know that more than 1 in 3 British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. I'd like to assist in lowering those numbers.
I got my chance in June 2011...I rode in the 3rd Annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. It was a two-day 240k cycling journey through Canada's Pacific region - Coverdale, BC to Redmen, Washington. I did my 2nd ride in 2018 which was equally spectacular.
I am privileged and stoked to join the Tragically Clipped team this year!
I've already got my bike and helmet, but to guarantee my Ride success, I need your help today!
Thank you for your support!
