Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
In July of 2021 our world was changed when my husband Don of 36 years was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Mantle Cell NHL is a rare form of NHL for which there is no cure. Thanks to research there is now hope for extending remission and new treatments in the future. Don had 6 months of chemotherapy in our hometown of Penticton. He then spent over a month in the Vancouver Cancer Clinic where he underwent a Stem Cell transplant. Thanks to this treatment we are hopeful that Don's remission will be extended. Due to the aggressive nature of this type of Cancer it is likely that the Cancer will return. However there are medical trials that are ongoing right now for TCell Transplant therapy. Our hope is that if Don's Cancer returns down the road the TCell Transplant will be an option.
I want to do this ride to bring awareness to what is going on with research and treatments for Cancer in B.C.. Cancer affects all of us. Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients like Don in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
The 100 KM ride will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support!
