Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
Cancer carves a path of loss and sorrow for my family today and the last decade. This chapter continues today with my Moms diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer in 2020. She meets her challenge with a grace, bravery and humour that I admire beyond words. I know the years ahead and the spread of cancer will ravage her body and the grief for our family will be deep as we approach the loss of our family matriarch.
Im embarking on riding the Tour de Cure in August to use the fear, grief and fury that comes with cancer to raise needed funds for the BC Cancer Foundation. We are looking to specifically support BC Cancers Indigenous Cultural Safety Program which will launch an innovative two-phase pilot project to make BC Cancer centres culturally safe and reflective of the Indigenous patients, families and communities whom they serve. The health and well-being of Indigenous people is extremely important to me, so our firm, MTCo and colleagues are earmarking our fundraising to this important project.
Seeing our Nations healthy and prosper is what drives the work I do and the change I hope to leave behind. I know all too well that early intervention is key and I know that transforming health facilities (and the cultures within) to make all Indigenous patients feel empowered and welcome is incredibly important in BC.
Connecting with others fighting cancer has been an invaluable lifeline for my family and Im looking forward to supporting the thousands of riders passionate to see a world without cancer.
Please support me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND uplift me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support! You are in my grateful prayers.
