I'm taking on the Tour de Cure
Held by Emjay Rasmussen
This August I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
In the last year alone, I have learned of three people in my small circle that are battling cancer.
One of those people is only ten years old.
I thought that my ride last year would be my come back year, and then I would go back into a long standing retirement from participating in fundraisers (donor fatigue is real), but I have decided that since I have the bike now, I may as well keep going. Because I can. And until I no longer hear of loved ones, children, friends, family and even those I don't know continuously in a fight against cancer, I will continue in these fundraisers, raising funds that are quite literally essential for saving lives.
This year, the Tour de Cure British Columbia is going back to a two day event and I am so excited to ride along one of my great friends on his last ride after 15 straight years participating in this particular event. From now until August, I will be looking to raise a total of $2500, as required by the event to ride, and riding from Vancouver to Hope on my purple bicycle, with my Uncle Cliff's name on my bike.
Any amount is appreciated... Thank you for your consideration.
