I'm taking on the Tour de Cure
Held by Kathy Kinakin
Cancer has affected all of our lives in some way. The world has lost artists, scientists, and beautiful spirits. People have lost family and friends, and even beloved animal companions. It has deeply affected those who have had cancer and been declared cancer free, and everyone currently living with it. It also changes the lives of those who care for loved ones or patients as they struggle with the disease. The world would be so much brighter if cancer wasn't in it.
This August I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help the BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
I decided to participate this year after my dad passed away from lung cancer in August of last year. He touched so many people's lives both in Canada and in Mexico, and he is missed by many. I think of him every day. Doing this ride is just a small way that I can give back to the health care system that cared for him, and contribute to the research that may help save the life of someone else's dad one day.
My hope is to raise at least $5000 for BC Cancer. I am setting myself a goal of finishing the 160km ride, which will be long and very challenging, but it doesn't compare to the challenges cancer presents.
Please consider supporting me by donating to the ride. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal, and it will motivate me to keep pedalling and reach my 160km goal for the ride. Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to so many people.
