Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
This August I will be embarking on a cycling challenge once again. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure to help the BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
As you know, I am a cancer survivor. It will be hard, and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer and wanting to help the others that follow me.
When I was diagnosed with a rare form of mucinous adenocarcinoma, only 250 cases have been reported in the world and I only had a 3% survival rate. I dont know why I got so lucky. Excellent medical health care certainly gave me back my life. Its been 18 years now. Three initial surgeries, 6 admissions for kidney infection, post-op blood clots and 6 months of chemotherapy have been my path.
The Prostate Centre and BC Cancer Agency with Drs. Gleave, Goldenberg, Dr. Chi and the wonderful nurses saved my life. The most I can do to thank these amazing health professionals that I challenge myself for riding my bike at this fantastic event to conquer cancer which it has now become a yearly tradition.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support
