This August, please support me in the Tour de Cure two day cycling journey while I ride with PCL's team from Surrey to Hope covering over 260kms of pavement!
This year, I will be offering to push my own physical limits to help incentivize my fundraising efforts for the Tour de Cure and the BC Cancer Agency. Depending on how much support I get will depend on how far I ride.
If my donations exceed $6,000 a week prior to the ride, I will start from Horizon Contracting Group's Squamish office on Friday August 25th, cycling past our Head Office in Langley then ending at my Cloverdale residence before riding to the start line in Cloverdale Saturday morning. This will be 400km of riding over 3 continuous days.
If my donations exceed $7,500 a week prior to the ride, I will start from Whistler on the Friday prior. This will equal 460km.
I'll even add a 4th day of suffering in if my donations exceed $15,000! Cycling on the Monday after we arrive in Hope with a continuation to Merritt bringing the total Km's close to 600kms. If the air quality and/or changes in the Tour de Cure route keep me from contuning my journey to Merritt, I will continue my journey south into Washington along the coast or onto Vancouver Island to get the same distance in.
My last offer if donors really go crazy this year donating over $25,000, I'll ride from Hope to Horizon's Kelowna office on day 4 (or however long it will take me as I won't quit until I make it) with adding an additional 241km for a total of over 700kms in 4 days (or to an equivilent destinaton if the forest fires keep me from being able to travel to Kelowna).
All of these options will push me past anything else I have ever endured on a bike, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer. I have supported various Cancer organizations since our Mom passed with Pancreatic cancer in 2000 but this year is a bit more real for me with far too many colleagues, family members, & friends currently experiencing the pains this disease cause personally and with loved ones.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me with a donation of any denomination as it all adds up very quickly.
Thank you so much for your support!
