AN UPDATE AND AN ASK

My wife, Jeanne, completed chemotherapy on three different types of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in August of last year. Much of the cancer was eradicated or suppressed by the treatments but, unfortunately, there are still two incurable lymphomas in her body. So, she is a cancer survivor living with the disease who needs quarterly check-ups to monitor the disease's progression.

We are incredibly thankful for the care and expertise of all those at B.C. Cancer who continue to work on her behalf as well as for the thousands of other patients battling cancer every day. For Jeanne, there's a good chance if she's able to survive for another five years, research will produce effective treatments for those two strains of lymphoma now considered incurable.

All of us have been touched by cancer in some way. Whether its been family members, friends, or even our own personal battle we've all seen how devastating this disease can be to our loved ones or to ourselves.

On August 26th, I'll be participating in the 2023 Tour de Cure benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation by biking 250 kilometres through the Fraser Valley to help raise money for cancer research.

I'm riding for Jeanne and a long list of relatives and friends; many who have battled and won; some sadly no longer with us.

I'm riding to improve early diagnosis and more effective treatments.

I'm riding so cancer victims have a better chance of survival.

I'm riding to beat cancer.

I'm riding for a Cure!
