Detect Early

Treat Early

Save Lives

Our team is dedicating our 2022 Tour to Al Heaps, who recently lost his fight with cancer. We are all saddened by the loss of this great fellow yet more determined than ever to actively support the ground-breaking research at the British Columbia Cancer Agency. Al has been an active supporter of our team for many years. We are forever indebted to him for his generosity.
This is Better Outcomes twelfth year in the Tour de Cure. Our team of bat-inspired cancer-fighting superheroes raises money to support research dedicated to increasing the accuracy of detecting the precursors of oral cancer. Detection of oral lesions early has the greatest impact on success. This research, spearheaded by Dr. Pamela Gardner, ensures better outcomes for those facing cancer.
Dr. Gardner is also riding with us this year. Few do as much as Dr. Gardner to turn the tables on cancer.
Better Outcomes 2 is keen to have new superheroes join us in the 2022 Tour de Cure, be it a donation or joining our team and riding with us. Every little bit helps us get to a cure for cancer sooner rather than later.

The BC Cancer Foundation is the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the province, supporting leading-edge cancer research at BC Cancer whose mission is to:

Reduce the incidence of cancer

Reduce the mortality rate of people with cancer

Improve the quality of life of people living with cancer
