Pictured above is my lovely daughter Hailey (4 years old in the picture ) and her older brother Harper (6 at that time)
This picture was from their lemonade stand in March 2019 where they raised $402 doing some swift lemonade business over a few hours in North Vancouver. They followed that up with a 2nd day at their lemonade stand in April 2019 where they were able to raise another $271. It was a proud day when Hailey was able to take those proceeds in her piggy bank jar over to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation during one of her frequent chemo appointments that she attended throughout her cancer journey.
Hailey is the reason that I ride each year and the reason that I will continue riding and supporting the fundraising effort for the BC Cancer Foundation.
After a long and tough journey from diagnosis in June 2018 to completing her last chemo treatment in October 2020, thankfully Hailey is now a very healthy 8 year old that is thriving in school and loving her time playing ice hockey and soccer.
I ride because I want to help fund further research which will minimize and hopefully eventually eliminate the instances of varying forms of childhood cancer.
If you help me reach my goal of $20,000, I will ask Hailey and Harper to set up the lemonade stand once again with proceeds going to BC Cancer Foundation and I will then match their dollars raised from their weekend of selling lemonade!
Please support me in the Tour de Cure!
In August 2023 I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure presented by Wheaton Precious Metals to help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
It will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support!
