Wheelin' Warriors of the North is a team I founded mid-November of 2012 when I registered as the Team Captain for the Ride to Conquer Cancer, now known as the Tour de Cure, benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation.

This was a personal challenge and a cause I felt strongly about for many reasons, the biggest reason and the catalyst for building an army of cancer fighting cyclists, was the passing of my longtime friend, Nola. Each year I ride in honour of Nola. Nola fought cancer with grace, dignity and style. She had a sparkle, an amazing sense of humour and an ability to make those around her feel good. She was a natural at making and retaining friendships and reminding everyone what really matters in life. She truly made a difference.

Each year our team has consisted of some very inspiring and dedicated teammates ranging in age and experience, but all share a common goal: a passion for fundraising in support of cancer research and care. I am proud to say that to date; Wheelin' Warriors of the North have raised more than $1.2 Million for the BC Cancer Foundation.

My involvement with the BC Cancer Foundation has allowed me to see the incredible impact that philanthropy has in supporting vital enhancements to care and advancement in cancer research at BC Cancer. I know the challenges that so many people have when facing a cancer diagnosis and as a resident of Prince George I am proud that we are home to a BC Cancer Centre who is a leader in radiation therapy.

2022 will be my 10th ride as Captain of Wheelin' Warriors of the North and once again I ride to celebrate the great ones that have been taken from us too soon. I urge you to consider supporting the BC Cancer Foundation in helping to establish a best-in-class Precision Radiation Treatment and Research Program at BC Cancer - Prince George. This will directly lead to more patients being treated in Prince George and better survival rates for so many of our loved ones who have been or will be impacted by this disease.

Please consider supporting me by making a gift today. Your donation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!

Thank you so much for your support!
