It's been 12 years but the pain still feels like it was yesterday. October 8th 2009 was the day cancer took my son, just 12 days before his 6 birthday and it'll forever be a day that is burned into my memory until the day I die.
However his passing sparked a fire in me to do something, to give back and the best way I've been able to do that is by riding a bike, asking for money and doing all in the name of cancer research so that hopefully with the money I help raise there will be a family out there that won't have to go through what I went through.
This August I will be embarking on a cycling challenge. I have committed to participate in the Tour de Cure help BC Cancer Foundation break down cancer.
It will be hard and it will be long, but it does not compare to the challenge of facing cancer.
Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
Please consider supporting me by making a gift today or joining me on a bike!Your donation and participation will help me achieve my fundraising goal AND motivate me in this challenge!
Thank you so much for your support!
