The 2024 Tour is a 2 day event which takes place August 24th and 25th. Funds raised through the Tour de Cure will support life-saving research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer, bringing hope to cancer patients in British Columbia and making an impact around the world.
I'm campaigning for donations for the 2024 Tour de Cure (formerly The BC Ride To Conquer Cancer) again this year. I have chosen the challenge of riding 100+ kilometers each day of the two day event. But it's really not about us riding our bikes ... is it?
Maybe it's a time of life thing but I've become increasingly aware of how many people are directly affected by cancer and have to fight the brave fight. More and more people I know are struggling against it. Some are holding their own while others are taken by cancer.
The only thing I know how to do to help them fight is participate in an awareness campaign called the "Tour de Cure". The Ride is put on as a reward to those who solicit funds from people we know to help people we *all* know.
Someone you know is fighting cancer right now. Think about it ... that's right ... someone you know.
What do you say to them to help? What can you say? The words of support, no matter how genuine, seem hollow even as they are coming out of your mouth. Many people say "If there is anything I can do just let me know ... call me."
I'm calling you on their behalf to follow through on those words of concern. To step up with some genuine action towards helping these people you care about.
I'm participating in the 2024 Tour de Cure to help those same people. Help me and the Ledcor Cycling Team to help them with a donation of any amount.
