Thank you so much for coming to this page again, year after year. I am truly appreciative of the continued support that you have shown over this last decade.
As with all the previous years, I will be riding with my incredible team from the BC Cancer Agency, where all the funds I raise directly goes. Shift Happens has been involved with this event since the inaugural year, 14 years ago. I feel so fortunate to be able to ride with such an incredible group of dedicated people who actually face the enormity of this battle in the lives of their patients every single day. They truly are the real heroes.
This will be my 10th ride, I think, I've honestly lost track. Over that time, I've watched first hand, the effects of cancer on many dear friends, some of you, and your family members. Witnessing the courage and strength that they bring with them to fight their fight day in and day out, this is what gave me the motivation to sign up again year after year. Fundraising for those who are still fighting, and even more so to honour the ones that have lost the fight.
This will be the 7th year that cancer has been an ongoing struggle within mine, and Coleen's immediate family. My mother being the closest one to me. She's still as willful and determined (read: stubborn) as ever as she awaits her next surgery this summer. But the strength that she models for us on a daily basis truly is inspiring. My family thanks you all for your care, consideration, and kindness that you all continue to show us through the years.
