Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey from Cloverdale to Hope, spanning two days of pedal-powered passion! We're not just cycling; we're on a mission to make a difference. Our wheels are turning for a cause close to our hearts - fighting oral cancer.
**Cycling for a Purpose:**
Our wheels are not just spinning on the pavement; they're propelling us towards a future without the shadow of oral cancer. By participating in Tour de Cure, you are actively contributing to the funding of vital research and treatment programs led by BC Cancer. Together, we can pedal towards progress in oral cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.
**In Loving Memory:**
Each revolution of our pedals is a tribute to those we've lost, and a celebration of the lives they lived. We ride in memory of loved ones we have lost. I ride in memory of my father, Rudy Schouten, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2019 and this year we add our friend and team member, Henry Doyle, who we lost so tragically in 2023.
Batman - A Symbol of Strength and Resilience
Just as the Caped Crusader fought against the forces of darkness, we too unite against the darkness of cancer. Adam West, the iconic Batman of our childhood, battled cancer himself, making this theme a poignant reminder of the strength we find in our heroes.
